Emiko Yamamoto was granted the URG Award which provides funds to support the proposal entitled Enhancing Gene Editing Efficiency. In this proposal, Dr Johnston and Emiko plan to evaluate the usefulness of Butyrate, a histone deacetylase inhibitor, to enhance the editing of hematopoietic cell lines and eventually the hematopoietic stem cell itself. We are extremely grateful to SJSU for granting us this award in support of our research.
